Launch of the Smart Machines 2035 Strategy for Consultation

A summary draft version of the Smart Machines 2035 Strategy is being published today (24 June 2024) to stimulate broader community discussion.

In preparation for future UK Government spending reviews and a forthcoming General Election, the Robotics Growth Partnership have spent the first part of 2024 considering a successor to the RAS2020 Strategy originally published in 2014 as part of the Eight Great Technologies initiative.

The aim is to achieve a consensus on what is needed and why, over a 10 year time frame, to help address issues with the prosperity, safety and resilience of the UK and its economy. Following informal discussions a summary draft of an initial approach has been prepared as the basis of a more formal and extensive consultation that will take inputs from all interested parties inside and outside of Government.

The intent is to take responses over the Summer of 2024 in preparation for the publication of a fuller and more considered version in the Autumn. Responses to this draft and the questions in it are therefore welcomed by the end of July 2024 using the feedback form link within the document. We hope you will be able to take the time to read the document and offer us useful perspectives so as to build a community wide view from across the UK in the final publication.

We look forward to hearing from you.
